Please join us on February 25th, 2012 for the Annual Pack 1143 Blue and Gold Banquet. We will be celebrating the birthday of Scouting as well as recognizing the accomplishments of our Webelos II scouts. It promises to be a fun filled evening with dinner, dessert and entertainment.  It will be an event your family will not want to miss!!

It will be held at the Johns Creek United Methodist Church Chapel on Saturday, February 25th, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00pm.

The cost will be $10 for adults, $5 for children, scouts and children under 2 are free.  Please RSVP by February 18th to reserve your spot for this great night!!!  Pay at the door.

 

Pinewood Derby 2012

Here are links to the Pinewood Derby rules for 2012 and a volunteer information sheet.

We need parent volunteers for help with the Pinewood Derby! Please email p1143cubmaster@gmail.com with the position you are interested in helping with.  Descriptions of the positions on in the volunteer flyer. Here is what we need help with:

• registration team
• pit crew
• track setup team
• concessions
• track operation - starter, finish

Registration will be on Friday January 20th from 6PM to 8PM at the chapel at JCUMC.  The races will be Saturday, January 21st from 9AM to about noon.  Late registration will be from 8:30AM to 9AM on Saturday.

"Big Trip": US Space & Rocket Center

Where: U.S. Space and Rocket Center, One Tranquility Base, Huntsville AL

When: March 24, 2012 (Tour from approx. 9am - 3pm) Cost:

• $33  Per scout (Includes admission, lunch, movie, and t-shirt)
•  $25  All others (does not include t-shirt)

T-shirt is optional for parents and siblings. Cost as follows:

• $8 for YL (the only youth size available)
• $9 for adult S-XXL
• $11 for 3X, and $13 for 4X)

Deadline to register is JANUARY 21, 2012 (Registration will be collected at the Pinewood Derby) 

For those persons interested in staying overnight on Friday, March 23, the hotel is the Huntsville Marriott, which is located on the grounds of the Space and Rocket Center. They are offering a the following rates for our group:

$89 plus tax = $100.68

$99 plus tax = $111.88 (includes two breakfast buffets at Seasons Restaurant)

$109 plus tax = $123.08 (includes four breakfast buffets)

Families should call the Marriott DIRECTLY to make their reservations, and reference the Pack 1143 room block. The number is 256-830-2222. The rooms are an occupancy of up to 4 people.

Pack Meeting moved to the 19th

Due to conflicts with other school events the December pack meeting has been moved to Monday December 19th at 6:30.

Annual Cambrdge & Wellington Night Of Lights

 The scouts of Pack 1143 are selling luminaries this holiday season to raise funds for the future Johns Creek Scout Center.

Kits are $10 each and include bags, sand and tealights.

Participating homeowners are requested to line the street in front of their house with lights on

Saturday, December 17^th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
