Pack 1143 Volunteer Opportunities Available
At least one parent from each family is asked to volunteer in some way to help make the overall scouting experience a memorable one. So please don't wait until it is too late and lend a hand in making Cub Scout a fun and interactive experience for both you and your son. Please see the below volunteer positions available and choose one that fits your skill sets best and start being a special part of your Cub Scout life. Also, please remember that all volunteers need to take the "Youth Protection Training" as required by the Boys Scout of America. You may take this quick on-line training by clicking on the following link: www.myscouting.org.
Assistant Communications Chair/Webmaster - working with Juan Sotomayor in maintaining website and emails as necessary.
Assistant Treasurer - Help the current Treasurer with budgeting, collection, and payment of funds for pack.
Secretary - Attending leader's meetings once a month. Taking notes at meetings/pack meetings and keep pack up-to-date on necessary information. (This position is necessary to alleviate the work from the Cubmaster.)
Spring Outings Chair - Help coordinating planning for outdoor programs, especially campouts. This person would help the Fall Outings Chair and be on their own in the Spring.
Pinewood Derby Chair - Help to plan and execute the pinewood derby race along with the below volunteers:
-Master of Ceremonies - 1 person needed
-Registration/Pit Crew - 2 people needed
-Concession Helper - 2 people needed
-Track Team - 1 person needed
-Staging - 3 people needed
-Cars - 1 person needed
-Finish Official - 1 person needed
-Track Breakdown (organize and run with parents help)
Assistant Pinewood Derby Chair - Working with Derby Chair as necessary.
Friends of Scouting Coordinator - Help provide support to the unit’s program with Friends of Scouting fund-raising within the district. Requires 1 meeting.
Assistant Popcorn Kernel - Work with Meggy Gilbreth to provide support for the annual popcorn sale. Training to assume role of Chair the next year.
Blue and Gold Co-Chair - Organize Blue and Gold Banquet and Crossing Over Ceremony.
2011 Summer Activity Coordinator - Organize and execute Summer activities for 2011; one per month in July and August.
