Pinewood Derby 2011
Once again, the Pinewood Derby was a spectacular event! Each scout had the opportunity to design, create, paint and race their car for the grand prize and one year’s worth of bragging rights. And after it was all done, and the dust had settled it was a repeat winner, Wolf Michale S., for his second win in a row. Congratulations to Den 7 Webelos Is for posting the fastest den average time in 2011. In addition, there were many great cars and multiple winners from many different dens for their fierce competition and elaborate designs. -

November 2010 Pack Meeting (Theme Citizenship)
This month Pack meeting core value theme was about Citizenship. Cub Scouts develop good citizenship when they are learning about respecting the flag and providing service to the community. At out pack meeting we spoke about “Doing a Good Turn for America” daily and we honored some special members of our community that visited with us this month. The pack also got to see a small performance put together by the Land Shark Patrol and one of the boys from the Fearsome Dragons Patrol that reinforced this month’s theme. -

Woodruff Scout Reservation
This past fall Pack 1143 went to Woodruff Scout Reservation. One of north GA favorite camp grounds for scouts and family of all ages. Located in Blairsville, GA this area has a rich history of gold, Cherokee Indians, and early settlers. Although the neighboring city of Dahlonega, GA was well known for the first site of gold in the United States, Blairsville and the surrounding area was known to have the purest gold in the mountains. The boys were able to fish, hike, sit by the lake and play some fun activities. At night the party did not stop as the boys did skits and roosted marshmallows by the camp fire for some tasty S’mores. -
